Safari FAQs

Q: How long are the tours?

A: Tours are 1 - 1.5 hours in length.

Q: What age can ride?

A: 3 y.o. - 99 y.o. New Hampshire requires booster seats for 6 year olds and 60 lbs. and under. We also recommend this, though it is not required by law in a tour vehicle. Allow some extra time to strap in your child's car seat. Use the seatbelt clip provided with your car seat.

Q: How bumpy is an off-road tour?

A: All guests should be in relatively good physical condition. As the name "off-road" implies, we will be traveling on back roads and trails, up and over Baron Mountain. Although the tour is low speed, it can be bumpy and jarring in places. Three years old is an absolute minimum and parents need to consider their individual child when deciding to participate. You may need to Hold On and definitely Buckle Up, as the license plates dictate.

Q: What should we wear?

A: Dress for the weather. The canvas sides are down on the Pinzgauers as the weather gets cooler. It is fairly warm in the trucks throughout the year, but you may want to get out and take pictures.

Q: Can we bring snacks?

A: Go ahead and bring snacks and drinks, but it's a bumpy ride...

Q: We have a large group, more than 12 people…

A: Click here for group pricing.

Q: Do we need reservations?

A: Reservations are highly recommended and are confirmed with payment by credit card, or prepaid by check or cash. Walk-ins are welcome if we have space available but the only way to guarantee your space is to reserve ahead by calling or booking online. Click here to book online. See cancellation policy below.

Q: What if it rains?

A: We tour in most weather conditions, rain, snow or shine.

Q: What if I want to send my teenage children and stay behind?

A: You will need to be present at the office to sign the release of liability on their behalf or download the waiver here and sign it for them to bring. *Anyone under 18 years old needs a parent's signature on their waiver before they are allowed on any of our tours.*

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: In regards to weather, we may cancel the tour, sometimes with very little notice, due to lightening, thunder, heavy rain or high winds. If we cancel the tour, guests will be given a voucher or refunded in full. Be aware that we do off-road in the rain and the 72 hour cancellation policy will apply. It's your responsibility to be certain we have the best phone number to reach you on the day of your tour.

We have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 72 hours no refunds or vouchers will be issued. Late arrivals will also be charged for their tour but will not be able to join the group. Spaces are limited and guests are being turned away for your spaces, as well we have already incurred expenses with our driver and headquarter's staffing. Cancellations outside of 72 hours will incur a $10 handling fee.
